Welcome

I’m Jennifer Jeffcoat—storyteller, somatic guide, educator, and mother to many paths. For over 30 years, I’ve walked alongside families, birth workers, and educators—supporting the healing of early imprints, the restoration of rhythm, and the reweaving of our sacred human story.

My Story

My journey began with birth—my own. I’ve come to understand that my first imprint, my arrival earthside, was the beginning of everything I now hold, teach, and embody. I am grateful I chose to visit Earth in this lifetime—though the lessons have not been easy. The path has been one of pain, isolation, joy, awakening, and deep remembering. These early imprints became the undercurrent of my life's work: to explore how our beginnings shape our being, and how we can return home to ourselves through the body, the breath, and the village.

Later, as a mother, I stepped into another initiation. My cesarean births—one in isolation, one without choice—unfolded as a profound unraveling. They taught me about powerlessness, resilience, and the sacredness of birth even in unexpected form. They became the catalyst for my devotion to honoring the beginnings of life and healing the ancestral stories held within our bodies.

Over the past three decades, I have walked alongside more than 400 births as a doula and midwife assistant and supported over 200 families in the tender postpartum threshold. My hands have held newborns and grieving mothers, my body has sat with stillness and chaos, and my heart has opened again and again to the unfolding mystery of human development.

Along the way, I became a certified somatic therapist, a Waldorf educator, and a specialist in pre- and perinatal birth psychology. I carry certifications in maternal mental health, lactation consulting, nutrition, trauma-informed care, and birth trauma therapy. But more than credentials, my work is guided by presence, intuition, and reverence for the nervous system as a storyteller of what the mind forgets.

I founded Mindful Ways Ecovillage in San Jose, California—a rhythm-based, nature-rooted learning space for children and families. I later created Spirit of Play on the Farm, where goats, gardens, and children coexisted in wild harmony. These experiences solidified my passion for child-led education and village-based parenting, where learning emerges through relationship, movement, and attunement to nature.

As a somatic practitioner and Child-Led Learning Consultant, I support families, educators, and communities in returning to embodied, emotionally resonant, and intuitive learning environments. Through my consulting work, I’ve guided micro-schools, co-ops, and parents in reclaiming rhythm, emotional regulation, and sovereignty in their home and learning spaces.

Out of this lived experience, I developed The Awakened Method—a developmental model that weaves neuroscience, somatic healing, spirituality, and ancestral wisdom across the human journey. It became the foundation for my upcoming book and workbook, Awakening the Village Within: Parenting Toward Wholeness, and the Parenting Ashram Tour, a traveling circle of storytelling, connection, and community remembrance.

In addition to my hands-on work, I serve as a speaker, keynote facilitator, and motivational guide—offering talks that awaken the heart and restore the soul of parenting, education, and healing. Whether on stage, in sacred circle, or in intimate community gatherings, I hold space with depth, clarity, and grounded presence. My talks weave personal story, scientific insight, and spiritual reflection—guiding audiences to remember their own power, process, and purpose.

I now travel the country holding space for others to remember what they already know: that healing lives in the body, learning lives in the heart, and parenting—at its most raw and real—is a spiritual path. My work is a prayer for the restoration of the village, the honoring of elders, and the liberation of children to grow in the wholeness they were born with.
